540 is funded by charitable gifts and donations provided by community members, partners, and corporate sponsors. Revenue from classes, programs, and events is used to sustain and support class content creation & facilitation and all community programs.

How Will Your Donation Be Used

Our organization recently turned 4, marking a major period of organizational growth as a convener and curator of important and vital community conversations, classes, and programs that bring people from all backgrounds, walks of life, and abilities together; bonded by a desire to listen, learn, and grow.

Currently, we are dramatically expanding the scale and scope of our organizational goals. Now more than ever, we aim to create a cultural shift in perspectives to dismantle oppressive structures through an informed and educated community. Your support directly facilitates the creation of new class content, accessible education for all, and a more just, equitable community.

Some upcoming programs that are in the works include:

  • A rigorous antiracism facilitator training, which will provide participants with the tools to organize, lead, and facilitate workshops, webinars, and important dialogues relating to racism.
  • A program centered on intersectional environmental justice addressing the racial disparities of environmental pollution & the environmental movement while teaching school-age children the factors that lead us here.
  • General creation of new, dynamic class content rooted in antiracism and social justice. We are in the process of creating a completely new program of classes relating to the effects of COVID-19 starting with a roundtable discussion regarding the state of schooling in a COVID world (learn more here).
