Dear Community,
Today we are half way through the 2nd week of our month-long virtual fundraiser Upon the launch of the campaign last week your support helped 540WMain blow past our original fundraising goal by over 50% ($10,800+ and counting) we are up to 120+ monthly members, and received the most volunteer inquirys we’ve ever received in a single week. All this amidst a global pandemic and #BLM protests across the world. I am filled with a mix of emotions that include surprise, gratitude, sadness, anger, calm, peace, and most importantly hope.
540WMain has most certainly evolved in scope and mission over the last four years but at the core it has always been about creating safe accessible space for diverse people to learn, share, and grow.
This mission remains unchanged and while the topics and themes have changed the core will always be the same. 540WMain is a brand without borders because learning, growth, knowledge, and education must happen without borders, all the time, everywhere, for all to experience. Sharing Knowledge and education is not in itself political. However, systems and governments have made it so by trying (with much success) to suppress learning, control the narrative, bury the truth, and complicate free unencumbered education. Education is for all people. As an educator and content creator, my mission is simple, to curate diverse spaces and content that educates all people. Nothing more, nothing less.
Through 540WMain I have created a platform to do just that and have been committed to doing this work prior to this week and month, and with your support will continue to do so long after.
They try to bury the Knowledge but forget that truth will always continue to grow. Let’s continue to grow together.
